About the Running Bear... Covering 14 acres with 3 sides bordering the Ottawa National
Forest, our resort allows you access to hundreds of wilderness acres for hunting, photography and bird
watching and to miles of trails for hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ATVing.
Beautiful Bond Falls & Flowage, just 2 miles down the road, give you fishing, boating and swimming at their
best. We haven’t even mentioned all the quiet spring fed lakes full of Crappies and Blue Gills, famous
Walleye & Musky lakes and the endless number of exciting trout streams available to tempt your fishing
skill... all within minutes of the resort. Canoe or kayak on a different lakes or rivers every day... with so
many surrounding the resort it will be hard to choose. Pack a picnic lunch and in less than an hour you can
be on the shores of majestic Lake Superior..it's a great way to spend a day
The Running Bear has the convenience of being within walking distance of The Paulding Store that supplies a
variety of necessities, bait, licenses, deli counter and they also have hand dipped Ice-cream cones (28 flavors
in the summer). We are also only a 10 minute drive, either north or south, to a town that can provide you
with a wider selection of groceries, parts, hunting and fishing supplies, flowers, gifts, restaurants and a casino
some 24 hrs a day.
Our 6 cabins are affordable, super clean and cozy. The cabins have comfortable furniture, dish TV, wireless
Internet and the bedrooms have King, Queen and Twin beds to provide a restful night sleep for everyone.
For your convenience, we have fully outfitted our kitchens – as of 2008 all the equipment is new. And…if
going on vacation means no dish washing or bed-making…no problem! Daily housekeeping service is
available for an additional charge. We also have pet friendly cabins.
Enjoy our Bear’s Den Pavilion with its large BBQ cooker, picnic tables, lights and power outlets. Its the
perfect place for group cookouts and family reunions.
We hope our resort will be the perfect place for your vacation. Treat yourself to beautiful new
